Bio
Emery Cunningham is a dynamic and passionate performer originally from Cincinnati, OH, now thriving in Boston, MA. Currently pursuing a BFA in Musical Theatre at Boston Conservatory at Berklee, Emery brings authenticity, versatility, and a deep love for storytelling to every role. Most recently, she was in the Ensemble and was the understudy for Marie/Fairy Godmother in Boston Conservatory’s Mainstage production of Cinderella.
Recent Credits include Big Fish (Witch) at Commonwealth Artist Student Theatre; Les Misérables (Fantine), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Titania), Spamalot (Lady of the Lake), Jesus Christ Superstar (Simon Zealotes), The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Olive), and The Wiz (Glinda/Dorothy, u/s) at Indian Hill Schools; Dreamgirls (Effie White), Alice by Heart (Red Cross Nurse/Queen of Hearts), The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Logainne, Mitch, Leaf u/s), and the original production of Acts of Love: A Jason Robert Brown Review (Swing) at Boston Conservatory; The Drowsy Chaperone (Trix) at Shenandoah Summer Music Theatre.
She was also a 2025 Acting Intern at New London Barn Playhouse, where she appeared in the Ensemble and understudied Deloris Van Cartier in Sister Act; performed in the Ensemble and understudied Miss Andrew and the Bird Woman in Mary Poppins; and played a Dynamite and Lorraine in Hairspray.
Emery Cunningham is a multi-talented artist and storyteller with a deep passion for all facets of the creative process. Her artistic journey began with the violin, which she has been playing for over 12 years. Throughout school, Emery was a dedicated member of her orchestra and spent four years performing with the esteemed Cincinnati Symphony Nouveau Chamber Players, honing her craft and developing a lifelong love for music.
In addition to her musical pursuits, Emery is a versatile and collaborative theatre artist. She has directed The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, assistant directed SpongeBob the Musical, and stage managed Next to Normal. Emery’s skills extend beyond leadership roles, as she has been an integral part of wardrobe teams and run crews for multiple productions. Her diverse experiences give her a unique perspective and appreciation for the collective effort it takes to bring stories to life.
